Egypt recalls Rameda Vilaphoria 40mg batch after laboratory non-conformity

The Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) has ordered a Class II recall of one batch of Vilaphoria 40mg film-coated tablets, manufactured by Rameda, after the authority’s laboratories found the batch non-conforming to specification.

Distributors, pharmacies and health facilities must stop circulation of the batch, seize it and place it under quarantine. The recall applies only to the identified batch. With an expiry of August 2027, roughly a year of shelf life remains, so stock is likely to be held across the distribution chain and in patients’ hands rather than concentrated in warehouses.

The EDA directed anyone in doubt about the product to contact it on the 15301 hotline or through its website.
