ANPP quarantines eight batches of Clamoxyl amoxicillin over quality defect

The Agence Nationale des Produits Pharmaceutiques (ANPP) has imposed a quarantine on eight batches of Clamoxyl (amoxicillin) 1g tablets.

The affected batches are S25F, R38W, R88P, RR8A, R88N, TM8Y, TM9A and TM9B, with expiry dates ranging from 06/2025 to 07/2028. The product is manufactured by GSK Algérie. The batch recall notification was dated 17 September 2026.

The authority cited a “défaut de qualité” (quality defect) as the reason for the action. The notice classifies this as a regulatory quarantine (“mise en quarantaine : défaut de qualité”), not a voluntary recall, and does not list batch recall among the current measures.

Healthcare facilities and distributors holding any of the eight batches must quarantine the stock immediately and await further instruction from the authority. The notice does not specify whether the product should be returned, destroyed, or held pending additional testing or assessment.
