Morocco's AMMPS signs partnership with standards institute IMANOR

The Agence Marocaine du Médicament et des Produits de Santé (AMMPS) and the Institut Marocain de Normalisation (IMANOR) have signed a partnership agreement to strengthen cooperation on standards, certification and conformity assessment for medicines and health products.

The agreement was signed by Pr Samir AHID, Director General of AMMPS, and M. Abderrahim TAIBI, Director of IMANOR. The convention aims to combine the two institutions’ expertise and reinforce complementarity between regulatory requirements and Moroccan standards, in line with international good practices and reference frameworks.

The partnership will facilitate exchanges of expertise between the two bodies and develop joint actions in their respective areas of competence. The stated goal is to strengthen the quality and safety of medicines and health products and, more broadly, the national health ecosystem, in accordance with Royal High Directives on health sovereignty.

The authority did not specify particular product categories to be covered, timelines for implementation, or whether any immediate changes to regulatory processes will follow from the agreement.
