AMMPS recalls one batch of Pfizer's Nivestim over cold-chain temperature recording incident

The Agence Marocaine du Médicament et des Produits de Santé (AMMPS) has recalled batch NG0631 of Nivestim 30 MU/0.5 ml, a filgrastim product made by Pfizer.

The precautionary recall follows an incident affecting the temperature recording system of a cold room. AMMPS did not state the location of the affected cold room, the duration of the temperature excursion, whether the product itself was exposed to temperatures outside its labelled storage conditions, or what testing if any has been performed on the batch.

Hospital pharmacists, community pharmacists, wholesale distributors and both public and private healthcare establishments must immediately stop distributing, dispensing and using the batch. They must quarantine any remaining stock and return the entire batch to Pfizer, which is coordinating returns as the marketing authorisation holder.

AMMPS stated that other batches of this product are not affected by this recall.
